Earthquakes vs. Sounders, recap: Leaving it late

The performance may not do much to quiet the loudest critics, but the Seattle Sounders got a much-needed road win over the San Jose Earthquakes that allows them to control their own destiny in the season finale. The winner came courtesy of Jordan Morris in the 4th minute of second-half stoppage time after he was able to beat Florian Jungwirth to a loose ball and then chip goalkeeper Daniel Vega.

The Sounders played up a man for about 15 minutes when Tommy Thompson was ejected for stomping on Xavier Arreaga in the 56th minute.
