Chad Marshall expected to be fine for RSL

Almost as frustrating as the Seattle Sounders’ 2-1 loss to FC Dallas on Sunday was that the final 30 or so minutes were played without center back Chad Marshall, who left in the 63rd minute with an apparent ankle injury.

Sure enough, both goals came from areas Marshall would have normally been occupying.

The loss sets up a virtual must-win game in the season-finale against Real Salt Lake. The good news? The Sounders are optimistic Marshall will be available.

“He got kicked in the back of the ankle,” Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer said in the postgame press conference.
