A day after announcing their local broadcast deal, the Seattle Sounders announced what can reasonably be called a pioneering deal with YouTube TV. The Sounders are actually the second MLS team to partner up with the streaming service, but unlike LAFC’s deal it is not exclusive. Rather, it is more of a supplementary option for cord-cutters who are unable to get JOEtv over the air.
The deal means that Sounders fans can watch games through such devices as XBox, Playstation, Apple TV, Roku or on any number of smart TVs. Unlike the more common YouTube website, though, this is a paid service with a limited geographic reach.
