After being released on Friday afternoon, the Seahawks signed running back Velus Jones Jr. back to the practice squad.
Seattle's transaction signals that a new player will be signed to its 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's home matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals, but a decision on who that will be remains to be seen.
Jones has appeared in six games for the Seahawks in 2026 in limited playing time, producing 28 yards on nine carries.
The Seahawks enter Week 9 with a number of key injuries that include quarterback Sam Darnold (quad), wide receiver link-placeholder-1, guard Quenton Nelson (knee), defensive tackle Leonard Williams (stinger), and outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (ankle), starters who have all been ruled out against the Cardinals.
