Two-time All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander hits free agent market after release

If the Seattle Seahawks are still looking for a veteran cornerback, a prominent name has just become a free agent.

The Green Bay Packers have released starter Jaire Alexander after seven seasons with the team. Alexander was an AP All-Pro Second-Team selection in 2020 and 2022, as well as a two-time Pro Bowler.

Acme Packing Company’s Tex Western has some more details on his contract situation, which played a role in his departure:

Alexander’s contract, which ran through 2026, was set to pay him $17.5 million in cash this season and carry a salary cap hit of $24.
