Over the course of the 2019 season the Seattle Seahawks played more base defense than any other team in the NFL. Part of that was obviously because the team lacked a quality nickel cornerback who could carry the load, while another part of it was that the Hawks had a trio of linebackers in Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright and Mychal Kendricks that was better than the nickel personnel offered.
That is of note at the moment, as Kendricks had yet to find a new home in free agency this offseason as he continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered late in the 2019 season.
