Seahawks need a cornerback. And they have a new-old one. Byron Maxwell has decided to come back to Seattle for at least the rest of 2017. According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, Miami “remains on the hook for the rest of his $8.5 million salary.” This does not mean Maxwell will not make some money from Seattle, but how much remains unknown at this point.
Maxwell should be a natural fit in Seattle. Maxwell knows the system and knows how to play Seattle’s kick-step philosophy. Is he Richard Sherman? Of course not. But who is? Still, for a player of Maxwell’s ability and knowledge of Seattle system to be available is a very good thing.
