At a political rally in Alabama Friday, President Donald Trump denounced NFL players who have publicly protested by kneeling or sitting during the playing of the national anthem before games.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out. He’s fired! He’s fired!'” Trump said to the crowd at his rally in Huntsville, Ala.
He also called for NFL fans to leave the stadium when players kneel for the anthem, theorizing that this would put a stop to the protests quickly.
