The Seahawks on Tuesday made a series of roster moves., most notably releasing cornerback Tharold Simon and fullback to Tani Tupou from the 53-man roster to make room for fullback Will Tukuafu and former Raiders cornerback Neiko Thorpe.
They also shuffled the practice squad by releasing wide receiver Kasen Williams, defensive tackle Justin Hamilton, wide receiver Rodney Smith and offensive tackle Takoby Cofield.
The quartet was replaced with quarterback Jake Heaps, defensive end Tylor Harris, receiver Antwan Goodley and offensive tackle Michael Ola.
The decision to waive Simon comes after the fifth-round pick out of LSU in 2013 was limited by injuries throughout his Seahawks tenure.
