The Seahawks have re-signed veteran defensive tackle Tony McDaniel, who was a member of the Super Bowl-winning squad of 2013 before being released last August in a salary-cap related move. His agency broke the news via Twitter.
McDaniel spent last season with Tampa Bay and became a free agent after the year and had remained unsigned.
McDaniel, 31, started 15 games at defensive tackle in 2013 and 14 more in 2014.
McDaniel started three games for Tampa Bay last season with one sack and 13 tackles.
Seattle had hoped that Sealver Siliga could fill the role of adding veteran depth at defensive tackle but he has yet to practice fully due to a calf injury, and was sidelined again after suffering a new calf injury during pre-game warmups on Saturday.
