Seahawks RB Robert Turbin had hip surgery, expected to be ready for camp

[insert Seahawks hip joke]

Seahawks running back Robert Turbin had offseason hip surgery, according to a report by FOX's Ross Jones. Jones noted that no timetable for Turbin's return is known, but Seattle Times' reporter Bob Condotta, in addition to confirming the report, noted that the team expects Turbin to be ready for training camp.

Turbin is set to enter his contract year in 2015 after rushing for 310 yards on 71 carries last season. Turbin also caught 16 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns. He's expected to be the primary backup to Marshawn Lynch but will have to hold off Christine Michael, who has a shot to push for additional carries this season.
