RENTON — Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was asked about the depth at wide receiver, but he used the opportunity to talk about the depth and talent of the entire roster.
“I can honestly say this is the most competitive team and talented team I think across the board,” Wilson said.
That’s an especially jarring statement because Wilson played on the 2013 team that won the Super Bowl. That team was loaded: Ron Parker, Jaye Howard, Bryan Walters, DeShawn Shead and Clinton McDonald were all cut before the season started.
Louis Riddick, a former scout and ESPN analyst, said the 2013 Seahawks had eight or nine players along the defensive line who could start on other teams; Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril were rotation players that year.
