That the Seahawks let go of Darrell Bevell and Tom Cable on Wednesday signals one thing. And that is that Seattle was extremely unhappy with the running game in 2017. And they should have been. The Seahawks stunk this year. Seattle was 23rd in the NFL in rushing yards per game this season.
There was far too much reliance on quarterback Russell Wilson to do…well, whatever it is Wilson does. But Wilson can only do so much. And by the end of the season, the quarterback was simply out of gas.
I don’t think that the changes made on offense on Wednesday – firing Darrell Bevell, offensive line coach Tom Cable and quarterbacks coach Carl Smith – are just for making Russell Wilson better.
