Seahawks elevate a pair of nose tackles ahead of Cardinals matchup

In seasons past, when the Seattle Seahawks would take on the Arizona Cardinals, the Hawks would often run light on the interior of the defensive line in order to counter Kliff Kingsbury’s aerial attack. However, with Jonathan Gannon now in charge of the Cards and strategies changed, the Seahawks have altered course, and Saturday afternoon elevated a pair of nose tackles from the practice squad in order to counter the Arizona ground game.

The reason the Hawks elevated Matt Gotel and Austin Faoliu for the regular season finale is the simple fact that defensive end Mario Edwards is out Sunday and Jarran Reed will be a gametime decision.
