Seahawks Decline To Match 49ers’ Offer Sheet To OT Garry Gilliam

Ian Rapoport reports that the Seahawks will not match the 49ers’ offer sheet to OT Garry Gilliam.

Last night, the 49ers signed Gilliam to a one-year, $2.2 million offer sheet, which gave Seattle five days to match the offer. However, it appeared likely that they would decline to do so, given their cap situation.

The Seahawks will not receive any compensation for losing Gilliam.

Seattle used an original-round tender on him that would have cost them around $1.797 million for the 2017 season and gave them the right of first refusal for any offer sheet he signed with another team during free agency.
