Seahawks’ backfield getting healthier, but will still be short-handed against Vikings

While the Seahawks’ running back spot is getting healthier with the return to practice this week of rookie C.J. Prosise and the continuing progress of Thomas Rawls, neither will play in Thursday’s second pre-season game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that the short practice week — the team played Saturday at Kansas City and took Sunday off — did not allow enough time for Prosise to the work needed to be able to play. The rookie from Notre Dame has been battling a hamstring injury.

“C.J. will not play in this game,” Carroll said.
