Seahawks and CenturyLink extend stadium naming rights through 2033 season

When the stadium now known as CenturyLink Field opened at the start of the 2002 NFL season, the venue was simply called “Seahawks Stadium.” That changed in 2004, when Qwest purchased naming rights, but then the switch to CenturyLink was made in 2011 after they acquired Qwest. These decisions were a bit odd, seeing as the Seahawks reportedly had no fans until 2012.

Anyway, Seattle’s agreement with CenturyLink was set to expire in 2018, but in an announcement made on Monday, an extension has been made that will see the official name of the cauldron of noise remain unchanged well into the 2030s.
