Report: Seahawks will not match offer for Garry Gilliam

The Seattle Seahawks have opted not to match the one-year, $2.2 million offer sheet restricted free agent Garry Gilliam signed with the San Francisco 49ers, according to multiple media reports.

Gilliam reportedly signed the offer from the 49ers, which includes $1.4 million guaranteed, on Monday, giving Seattle five days to match the offer. The team only needed one day to decide the 26-year-old right tackle, to whom them they extended a "qualifying offer" worth $1.797 million to in March, wasn't worth bidding for.

Because Gilliam joined the Seahawks as a free agent out of Penn State in 2014,Seattle's decision not to match San Francisco's offer means the team won't receive any compensation for the two-year starter.
