When Richard Sherman’s career with the Seattle Seahawks ended on November 9th, the team replaced him with none other than Byron Maxwell, who had been Seattle’s #2 cornerback from 2013-2014 before faltering with the Phildelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Maxwell produced some of his old magic, including a pivotal forced fumble on Dez Bryant in the Seahawks’ 21-12 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Now that Maxwell is a free agent (again), the Seahawks are reportedly interested in bringing him back. Ian Rapoport wrote on Friday that the team and Maxwell are engaged in contract negotiations.
