Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider is not afraid to make moves that he believes will improve his team. He also has a bit more freedom than he did a couple of years ago. When Pete Carroll was the team's head coach, Carroll had the final say over the roster. Schneider does now.
The GM will almost certainly get head coach Mike Macdonald's input, but the final decision is Schneider's. Macdonald doesn't make the roster changes.
The key is how Schneider sees the current makeup of the Seahawks' roster, and whether he thinks he can improve it.
