Grading Seahawks fourth round pick Gary Jennings

The Seahawks need wide receiver depth. Gary Jennings is not the flashiest of players and won’t take the top off defenses the way D.K. Metcalf could, but Jennings might become a trusted receiver for Russell Wilson. Wilson likes guys he knows will catch the ball no matter the situation.

Think of Jennings as a lot more like Jermaine Kearse than Doug Baldwin. During Kearse’s time in Seattle he developed into a receiver that Wilson thought he could throw to at any point. Even in the NFC Championship game against the Packers in 2015, and even though Kearse had bungled two passes that turned into interceptions, Wilson threw towards Kearse.
