RENTON, Wash. -- When the Seattle Seahawks take the field Saturday in their preseason opener, Bradley Sowell will get the start at left tackle and be in charge of protecting Russell Wilson's blind side.
The Seahawks signed Sowell as a free agent this offseason, but he hasn't started a regular-season game since 2013. The plan all offseason had been for Garry Gilliam to replace Russell Okung at left tackle. But against the Kansas City Chiefs, Gilliam, who had a cyst removed from his knee in the spring, will play on the right side.
