Day six of NFL free agency broke with seemingly promising news for the Seahawks — a report from Pro Football Talk that the team was “moving toward a new deal.”
But almost before the ink on that reported had dried came another from PFT, positing that maybe that thought, which it referred to as coming from “chatter on the NFL grapevine,” had been spurred from Clowney’s camp to try to drum up more interest around the league.
That could mean the bigger story here is that there may be some urgency coming from Seattle’s side to get something done, and Clowney knowing that at some point he has to take a Seahawks offer or the team will be forced to move on.
