Seahawks News: Seattle Acquires Safety Kelcie McCray Via Trade With Chiefs

The Seattle Seahawks, embroiled in a contract stalemate with star safety Kam Chancellor, added a contingency plan at the back of their defense on Saturday with a trade for Kansas City Chiefs safety Kelcie McCray.

According to Conor Orr of NFL.com, "it cost them a fifth-round draft pick, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, according to a source informed of the deal."

The 6-foot-1, 26-year-old undrafted free agent out of Arkansas State spent short stints with the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Bucs before catching on in 2014 with the Chiefs. This is the second time in just over a year that he's been traded.

McCray has 17 career tackles and a pass breakup in 31 career games.
