Former Seattle Seahawks wideout Golden Tate signed with the Detroit Lions as a free agent this offseason, but that doesn't mean his name hasn't been linked to Seattle several times this year.
First, there was the report that he got into a fight with Percy Harvin before the Super Bowl, a story he confirmed but denied they ever got physical.
He was also rumored to have had an affair with Russell Wilson's wife. Wilson and his wife got divorced this offseason, but Tate denies the affair:
I did not have an affair with Russell Wilson’s wife, nor did I have anything to do with his divorce. That is laughable for anyone who knows us. His ex-wife, Ashton, is still best friends with my girlfriend. Russell and I were good friends when I was in Seattle, on and off the field — he knows the rumors about me were unfounded, damaging to my reputation, and an attack on my character.
Tate had a great first season with the Lions, racking up 1,331 yards and four touchdowns on 99 catches.
Wilson passed for 3,475 yards and 20 touchdowns while leading the Seahawks back to the NFC Championship Game. They will face the Packers on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. ET on FOX.
