The Seattle Seahawks' 12th Man are facing another challenge to their standing as the world's loudest fans...and it's coming from a familiar source.

Per Nick Eaton of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, "Kansas City Chiefs fans are trying once again to reclaim their self-applied title as the NFL’s loudest fans. During the Chiefs’ upcoming “Monday Night Football” matchup with the New England Patriots, the Kansas City faithful will attempt to break the 12th Man’s Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at an open-air sports stadium."

On September 15th, 2013, the Seattle Seahawks' faithful set a new world record reaching 136.6 decibels in a game against the San Francisco 49ers. Chiefs fans would overtake the 12th Man briefly in October of that year, as they hit 137.57 decibels in a game at Arrowhead Stadium against the Raiders.

That would only last until December 2nd, when Seattle Seahawks fans hit 137.6 decibels in a game against the New Orleans Saints.

Now, the Chiefs are at it again...hoping the Monday Night Football atmosphere and a visit from the New England Patriots equal out to another Guinness World Record.

However, even if they do get the record back, it's likely just a matter of time before it slips away once again.
