Report: Seahawks Traded Percy Harvin To Avoid "Locker Room Mutiny" Against Russell Wilson

At this point, we know the Seahawks traded talented wide receiver Percy Harvin because of his anger issues and chemistry concerns. Now, we're learning more about exactly what kind of influence Harvin had in the locker room and what Seattle's front office's concerns were.

According to NBC's Pro Football Talk, a source said the "Seahawks possibly feared that Harvin had sufficient influence over enough of the locker room to launch a mutiny against quarterback Rusell Wilson, who despite not yet getting a franchise-quarterback contract possibly has become the target of some resentment among players who don’t share his complete devotion to the game, and who regard the third-year quarterback as a player-coach."

That's very telling, and his influence on other players could be seen in running back Marshawn Lynch's NSFW tweets following the trade.

Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, who works as a color analyst for the Seahawks' radio broadcasts, said this was dealt with so abruptly because of head coach Pete Carroll's belief in great chemistry on and off the field.

"I think that’s what this team has been so successful with the last three years," Moon explained. "They’ve really had a great camaraderie, and they didn’t want to do anything to disrupt that.”

It remains to be seen as to whether Seattle's locker room issues that have come to light are solely Harvin's fault, but the Seahawks seems to think so.
