3 Things The Seahawks Need To Do To Beat The Rams In Week One

The Seattle Seahawks were just one ill-fated pass play away from a Super Bowl championship this past winter, but that's all in the rear view mirror right now. It's time to get the 2015 season started off right with a big-time showing on the road against the division-rival St. Louis Rams. Here's 3 Things The Seahawks Need To Do To Beat The Rams In Week One.

1. Survive And Adjust

The Rams' front seven is justifiably hyped heading into the 2015 season and it'll be up to Russell Wilson to read St. Louis' creative rush strategies and audible his way to success on Sunday. Seattle's bread and butter is and will always be Wilson's legs and the rest of the running game, so it'll be up to Wilson, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and head coach Pete Carroll to adjust to the pressure and find ways to gobble up yards both between the tackles and around the edge.

2. Befuddle Nick Foles Early

Foles threw 10 interceptions in eight games played for the Eagles last year before a broken collarbone ended his 2014 season prematurely. He can be rattled. He's shown that in the past. We all know that the Legion of Boom will be in full force, so it'll be up to the front seven to complement that and push the Rams' offensive line back early -- forcing Foles to make rushed, off-balance throws in hopes of securing a game-changing pick or two.

3. Stuff The Rams' Depleted Rushing Attack

Rams first-round pick Todd Gurley is out with a knee injury and Tre Mason is currently nursing a hamstring injury, so the onus will be on Benny Cunningham and Isaiah Pead in the St. Louis running game. Seattle's aforementioned front seven is DEEP and should have no problem containing St. Louis' third and fourth RB options, as long as Seahawks defenders remain staunch in their assignments and don't buy into the play-action when Nick Foles employs it.
