3 Players The Seattle Seahawks Should Target In The First Round Of The NFL Draft

The Seattle Seahawks may have lost to the Panthers in the playoffs, but they're still expected to be a Super Bowl contender again next year. The draft is at the forefront of the minds of everyone in Seattle's front office as they try to fix a few weaknesses, and they have a chance to really upgrade their roster. Here are three players they should target in the first round of the draft.

CB Mackensie Alexander

There's a really, really good chance Alexander is gone by the time the Seahawks are on the clock. However, there's enough of a chance that he'll be available that Seattle should make him a top target. Seattle has been looking for a second cornerback to pair with Richard Sherman after losing Byron Maxwell, and Alexander is an agressive prospect who is excellent in man-to-man coverage - making him a perfect fit for Seattle. If Alexander is gone, taking someone like Ohio State's Eli Apple makes sense.

DT Andrew Billings

Billings finally became a consistent performance for Baylor last season and he made a huge impact as a result, picking up 14.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. The 6'2", 300-pounder is a workout warrior and will turn heads at the combine, where he can demonstrate his surprising quickness. Head coach Pete Carroll loves players like this, and Billings has all of the potential to be a future Pro Bowler.

WR Josh Doctson

Seattle really needs to upgrade their receiving core, especially if they lose Jermaine Kearse, and Doctson is someone who can step in and contribute immediately. He tore up the field at TCU, racking up 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns on 79 catches in 10 games. He has excellent size at 6'3" and 195 lbs, making him an excellent red zone threat, and he also has elite route-running skills. Doctson isn't the fastest or the quickest guy in the draft, but he'll catch anything you throw at him.
