Yoenis Cespedes, New York Mets reportedly agree on 3-year, $75 million deal

Slugging outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is returning to the New York Mets.

A person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press the free agent and the National League champions agreed Friday night to a three-year contract for $75 million.

Cespedes, 30, can opt out of the contract after one season and make it worth $27.5 million. He also got a full no-trade clause. The deal reportedly is pending a physical.

Cespedes was traded from Detroit to New York on July 31. He launched 17 home runs and drove in 44 in 57 games for the Mets, powering them to their first World Series appearance since 2000.
