The second week of the 2015 Major League Baseball seasons wasn’t a great one for the Seattle Mariners, as they were swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers en route to a 2-4 record over the past seven days. However, the bright spots continue to emerge for the M’s.
This week’s shining star was Nelson Cruz. The designated hitter was named American League Player of the Week after collecting six home runs and 10 RBIs in six contests. Unsurprisingly, much of what’s been written about the M’s in the past days has revolved around Cruz, but there were other important storylines that grabbed a few headlines away from Nellie last week.
