Tim Tebow’s workout for MLB teams draws mixed reactions from scouts

There was a wide variety of reactions from MLB scouts to Tim Tebow’s workout for teams Tuesday.

Tebow, the former Florida Gators football star who played three seasons in the NFL, is attempting to start a baseball career. The 29-year-old held a workout today on the USC campus that attracted more than 40 scouts representing the majority of major league clubs.

The Mariners were planning to send a scout to the workout.

One scouting director told ESPN’s Jim Bowden that the “workout was certainly good enough that someone will give him a chance.”

But other scouts disagreed, with one telling USA Today’s Bob Nightengale that Tebow “looked like an actor trying to portray a baseball player.
