Rank: 6 (↑3)

It certainly hasn’t come easily, though, as 14 of those 19 wins have been by one run,” ESPN Stats & Information’s Paul Casella writes. “It won’t get any easier this week, as Seattle kicks off a 13-game stretch Monday in which it plays the Angels (three games), Yankees (three) and Red Sox (seven).”

Rank: 7 (↑1)

“The Mariners are tied for first in the AL West with the Astros, despite trailing the Astros 127-20 in the run differential column; Robinson Canó being on the shelf with an injury/suspension; and an entire franchise history that suggests not getting one’s hopes up,” The Athletic’s Levi Weaver writes.
