Series of Harbor sinkholes close highway, could cost millions to repair

HARBOR, Ore. (KTVL) --Massive sinkholes are taking over Harbor, Ore. and US 101 has been shut down at milepost 358, affecting several businesses and traffic.

At 80 feet wide and about 50 feet deep, there's a lot of work to be done.

US 101 is a coastal highway that connects California, Oregon and Washington.

Oregon Department of Transportation said the agency is in talks with eight different contractors to figure out price points and what materials will be used. For now, all the agency can do is wait and continue to monitor the situation.
