Seattle Mariners sign first-round pitcher Emerson Hancock, two other draft picks

The Seattle Mariners announced Thursday the signing of three of their 2020 draft picks, including first-round pitcher Emerson Hancock.

Hancock’s contract included a $5.7 million signing bonus, according to multiple reports. His slot value as the No. 6 pick was $5,742,900.

The club also inked second-round choice Zach DeLoach and fifth-round selection Taylor Dollard.

Hancock was one of the top pitchers in college baseball at Georgia, and was projected to be No. 1 pick by many MLB experts before this spring.

The 6-foot-4 right hander went 16-7 with a 3.47 ERA and 206 strikeouts over 33 starts in three seasons for the Bulldogs.
