After going for an outfielder in the fifth round, the Mariners went right back to the college pitching ranks in the sixth and took Lucas Kelly, a right-handed reliever out of Arizona State University, where he played for former Mariner Willie Bloomquist.
Lucas Kelly!!! @LucasKe11y you been through a lot and continue to persevere!! Super pumped for you. @Mariners will take great care of you! Great organization to play for!

Kelly, who transferred to ASU this season after starting his career at Texas A&M in 2023, is an intriguing relief option for the Mariners that could eventually turn into a leverage arm in the back of a bullpen.
