February is Black History Month. The Mariners join in paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society. And we celebrate the key role that baseball, and sports, have had in helping move this change forward, from the legacy of Jackie Robinson to the many great players we have, and have had, in Seattle.
As the Mariners settle into 2020 Spring Training Camp here in Peoria, Arizona, every Thursday and Friday in February this blog will be updated with content from former and current Mariners as they share their perspective and insight on the significance of Black History Month.
