Friday is the annual Mariners Wives Favorite Things fundraiser to benefit Mariners Care, the team’s nonprofit foundation.
Each year, the wives of players, coaches, General Manager Jerry Dipoto, gather up the things their husbands like the most — favorite movies and music, wine, snacks and hobbies, as well as a trove of autographed items, many game-used. Everything is up for silent bid through the 6th inning of the game.
Here are some things we know about the guys, based on a survey of their baskets:
They have a taste for fine things (Macallan Highland Single Malt Scotch — Marc Rzepczynski; Ace of Spades Champagne, cognac and Seattle’s Aqua restaurant — Robinson Canó), and are also consumers of fast-food and sweet and salty treats (Dairy Queen — Kyle Seager; Taco Bell and Nutella — Mike Zunino; sunflower seeds and Double Bubble gum — multiple).
