LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today that catcher Tom Murphy has been transferred to the 45-day Injured List.
Murphy was placed on the 10-day Injured List with a left foot metatarsal fracture on July 23 (retroactive to July 20).
Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster is now at 39 players.
Murphy, 29, appeared in 6 Summer Camp games at T-Mobile Park, batting .250 (3x12) with 1 RBI. In 9 Cactus League games this spring, Murphy hit .176 (3x17) with 2 runs scored, 1 double, 1 home run, 3 RBI and 4 walks.
