Mariners Tally 12 hits in 11-4 Loss to Kansas City

PEORIA, Ariz. — The Mariners continued Cactus League play this afternoon, falling 11–4 to the Kansas City Royals at Peoria Stadium. Seattle tallied 10+ hits for the 4th consecutive game, but was only able to push 4 runs across, leaving 11 baserunners stranded.

Logan Gilbert made his second start of the spring, allowing 5 runs over 3.2 innings pitched with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. He cruised through 3 innings of 1-run ball, before falling victim to a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning.

Steven Souza Jr. got the Mariners on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning with a solo blast to left field, his second home run of the spring.
