Mariners Sign RHP Sal Romano To Minor League Contract

PEORIA, Ariz. — Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster move:

· Sal Romano (#87), RHP, signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training.

Romano, 28, has made 88 career appearances (41 starts) across 5 Major League seasons with Cincinnati (2017–21), New York-AL (2021) and Milwaukee (2021). He is 15–21 with 2 saves and a 5.23 ERA (160 ER, 275.1 IP) with 109 walks and 211 strikeouts in his Major League career.

The 6-foot-5 right-hander was selected by Cincinnati in the 23rd round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Southington High School (CT).
