Mariners Shut Out vs. Rangers

Well…earlier today I wrote that the M’s were 6.0 games back of a wild card spot. I asked if you could dare to dream about the M’s having a comeback season.

The Mariners had won five in a row coming into today’s series opener with the Rangers, but Texas put a stop to that, winning 3-0 at Safeco Field.

The shutout loss is the first time the M’s have been shut out since a July 4th loss against Oakland.

Roenis Elias pitched well in defeat, surrendering two earned runs in 5.1 innings. He struck out six while walking two.
