Mariners Scouting Director Scott Hunter met with the media before Wednesday’s game to discuss the upcoming MLB Draft, which begins on July 13th in Atlanta during the All-Star Game festivities. The Mariners hold the third pick in the draft after hitting big in last year’s draft lottery, and will have a large bonus pool to use: Seattle gained about $4.4 million dollars in pool money by moving up twelve spots in the lottery, and will have the luxury of having the largest pool in the Draft, with $17,074,400 available to spend.
