Mariners Release RHP Seth Frankoff

Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced tonight from the MLB Winter Meetings the following roster move:

· Seth Frankoff, RHP, released (player wishes to play in Korea).

Seattle’s Major League (40-man) roster is now at 36 players.

Frankoff, 29, who will pursue a playing opportunity in Korea, was claimed off waivers by Seattle from the Chicago Cubs on Sept. 4, 2017. He appeared in one Major League game with Chicago this season. Frankoff spent most of the season with AAA Iowa, going 2–8 with a 4.40 ERA (57 ER, 116.2 IP) with 119 strikeouts in 24 games, including 21 starts.
