ORLANDO, Fla. — With middle relievers suddenly coveted by all teams in baseball, the Mariners joined that wave of popularity by reaching an agreement to add a power arm to the back of their bullpen.
Multiple sources have confirmed that the Mariners have reached an agreement with right-handed reliever Juan Nicasio on a 2-year contract pending a physical.
Nicasio, who resides in the Dominican Republic, will fly take the physical in Seattle early next week. The deal will then be finalized and announced.
