SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
· Darren McCaughan, RHP, optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.
· Vinny Nittoli, RHP, designated for assignment.
· Hector Santiago, LHP, rejoins active roster.
Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster is at 40 players.
McCaughan (mih-CACK-en), 25, was selected from Triple-A Tacoma on July 21 and made his Major League debut that day at Colorado. He tossed 5.0 innings in relief, becoming just the 7th MLB pitcher to toss at least 5.
