PEORIA, Ariz. — The Mariners continued Cactus League play this afternoon with a 7–6 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Peoria Stadium. Outfielder Steven Souza Jr. blasted a first inning grand slam to put the Mariners on top early, and the Mariners bullpen held on to secure the Mariners first Cactus League win this spring.
The Dodgers scored first with a run in the top of the first inning, but their lead didn’t last long as the Mariners offense exploded in the bottom half of the frame to take a commanding 5–1 lead.
