Alex Jackson, the Mariners’ top prospect in their farm system, made his 2016 debut on Thursday night for Class A Clinton. The slugging outfielder made his presence felt immediately. Jackson crushed an impressive and deep solo homer in the sixth inning (video above). He finished the game 1-for-5 with the homer and a strikeout.

Taken with the sixth pick in the first round of the 2014 draft, Jackson struggled last season with injuries and inconsistency at the plate.
