While it’s not as punishing as an April trip to Chicago, a May trip to Chicago isn’t that much nicer, and it sure doesn’t look like it will be very nice for the M’s this series. Today it looks like the Windy City will be earning that moniker, and tomorrow looks very rainy.
In today’s series preview, Ryan wrote that this series “won’t be a breeze” thanks to Chicago’s solid run differential at home despite their eye-bleachingly bad record. That remains true, but there will be a breeze in the air today. The White Sox, reeling from a sweep at the hands of the Cubs, will look to get right against the Mariners, and will have the help of newly-returned outfielder Austin Slater to do so, along with reigning AL Player of the Week, Miguel Vargas.
