Mariners Field Coordinator Carson Vitale on the pandemic, his outlook on life and his magnificent beard

Carson is in his first season as the Mariners Major League Field Coordinator, his first season on a Major League staff overall, but his third season in the Mariners organization.

Vitale graduated from Creighton University in 2010 with a BA in Advertising and Public Relations, and played in 97 of a possible 108 games for the Jays during his career.

He was selected by the Rangers in the 38th round of the 2010 MLB Draft, and played parts of two seasons in their minor league system, including two stints with their affiliate in Spokane, Wash.
